Hamp Stevens was born in 1950 and grew up in Ellaville, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1973 with a degree in Business. Since that time he has owned and operated a number of businesses relating to the heavy construction business, turf grass production, turf grass equipment manufacture, the manufacture of baseball caps and a nationally syndicated radio program.. He is currently the lead investor in a bio-tech company headquartered in Athens, Ga. He is a former member and seat holder on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He has been semi-retired since 2003.
Over the past 40 years Mr. Stevens developed his skill as a woodworker. He builds high end furniture, wood strip canoes and kayaks. He is also and accomplished wood turner and a member of the American Wood Turners Association.
